Field Representative

Tyler Gregory

Tyler (Tye) Gregory is a California LGBTQ+ and Jewish community leader. He serves as the CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the largest collective voice of Bay Area Jews. Under his leadership, JCRC pursues a just world where Jewish identity is embraced, and all people can thrive.

Tye joined JCRC at the beginning of the pandemic era, since which time Jewish Americans and historically disadvantaged communities have experienced a marked rise in discrimination and hate. In response, JCRC has mobilized multiethnic and multifaith coalitions to fight back against antisemitism, anti-Black and anti-AAPI racism, and anti-LGBTQ+ hate. JCRC has also emerged as a leading Jewish organization advocating for inclusive ethnic studies curricula in California high schools.

Previously, Tye served as executive director of A Wider Bridge, the LGBTQ+ organization advancing equality in Israel through international support and cooperation. During his six years there (2014-2020), the organization grew from a Bay Area startup to a national advocacy organization, and Israel’s LGBTQ+ community became recognized as a force within both Israeli society and the global movement for LGBTQ+ rights.

To date, Tye has led more than 90 Bay Area civic and elected leaders on delegations to Israel through JCRC, after having led more than 250 U.S. LGBTQ+ leaders to Israel with A Wider Bridge. He spent the early years of his career in the political department at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), educating candidates and partnering with members of Congress to strengthen the critical US-Israel relationship.

Tye is a resident of Oakland, a proud graduate of UC Davis, and a native of San Diego.
